What principles should guide generative AI’s engagement with users?

On October 28-29, 2023, members of the public will participate in a Meta Community Forum on Generative AI to discuss this important question. Generative AI is a relatively new type of AI that finds patterns in massive amounts of data and uses them to create new text and audio-visual content. AI chatbots powered by generative AI, like ChatGPT, have the potential to enhance people's efficiency and revolutionize the way people work. However, there are also potential risks, including misuse of generative AI, worker displacement, and human dependency on these tools.  During this forum, participants will engage with each other in a Deliberative Poll® to discuss how tech companies should develop AI chatbots.
